Recently opened (Aug/2011) = new interior nice staff you can hear the river, but not the street breakfast included
First night we got there, there was a party in the restaurant downstairs with very loud music until after midnight

As good as advertised. Friendly brother and sister team have remade this old mill into a great place to stay. Very clean, very good breakfast. The river running outside your window doesn't hurt either. Parking is somewhat tight, but with only 10 rooms it's not that big a deal.

Don't be put off by first impressions when you arrive because the location is in a very pretty but dark valley and it looks a little gloomy but once inside the old water mill has been beautifully but simply renovated and is very bright and cheerful. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Our room had a lovely waterfall shower and a hair dryer which is always a bonus if you don't have to pack one! The restaurant served very good local dishes with good service and very pleasant staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the location is perfect as it is very close to both Lake Lugano and Lake Como.
I cannot think of anything I did not like about the hotel itself it was however a little difficult to find and the drive along Lake Lugano to reach it is not for the faint hearted, windy roads but fabulous views.

Although located remotely it was possible to walk into Porlezza in about 20mins. Lovely room and in a river valley with grat views of surrounding mountains. Good location for touring both Lake Como and Lugano.

Beautifully constructed facility from an old grist mill, done with great style and high quality materials, completed in 2011. Located on a dead end street below a hydro plant and on a good trout steam with nice running water that made sleeping a treat. Beautiful terrace and grounds behind the hotel/restaurant. Very nice fresh bread and minced fruits for breakfast. A lot of love was put into this enterprise by the owners. Nice walk into town along the stream (1/2 hr) on a bike path or along the street (1/4 hr) with sidewalks. Very good value. We stayed with another couple for 5 nights.
Limited English spoken, but this did not deter from our experiences in any way.

The hotel had great views of a river and was located in a picturesque village. the rooms were clean, spacious, and decorated with beautiful art. the food was superb and tasted authentic.
The hotel was difficult to find with a GPS. It would have been nice to have coffee/tea facilities in the room and professional size toiletries.

Pro: Good-Food, modern new interior, clean, lovely garden and terras with view on the mountain river, unique location, close to Porlezza, calm,
small minus: breakfast was missing variety, no fruit or egg. Parking: needs some organisation, no lines, causing narrow parking on some days.
